Congratulations from everyone at DUFC to Sam who this season has been selected for Durham County U18’s a year earlier than is the norm! Not only that, success in the County School team has earned him trials with England Schools U18’s.
Today (Sunday), Sam pulled on the England No10 shirt and didn’t disappoint with a well-taken goal.

Sam who plays for the U23’s and First Team is now waiting on the next step; ‘wait and see’, ‘am I in or out' for the trial game at Lilleshall Hall on 28 Nov when Eng North play Eng Midlands.

Sam Johnson could follow in the footsteps of some of the country’s finest schoolboys that have pulled on the England shirt, from Bobby Charlton and Terry Venables through to Ryan Giggs (then Wilson – who attended a school in Salford), Michael Owen and Jermaine Defoe.
