Durham United announce the departure of Anthony Johnson from his senior team coaching role. Ambitious Anthony has taken the invitation to lead Northern League 2 side Esh Winning FC; we wish him well with his new Saturday charges.

Anthony will remain involved with the club as U23 coach.

The committee are delighted and excited to announce that former professional at Sheffield United, Darlington and England Youth Team centre forward Gary Innes from Consett will step in and lead our 3rd place Seniors as they battle a tight promotion battle.

Gary has extensive coaching and managerial experience, with Tow Law, Whickham, Bedlington and Willington; the boys have a great opportunity to learn more from someone whose done it all, and knows the north east’s very competitive football landscape as well as anyone!

Gary say’s “I look forward to continuing the good work Anthony and Christian have achieved”.
