We Kick off 2026

As we kick off 2026, the committee sends our best wishes to every member of the Durham United Youth Football Club – whether you’re a long-standing supporter or just joining our football family. Together, we are united by our shared love of the game and the values that make our club such a special part of the Durham community.

Last year was a remarkable journey, filled with memorable achievements, hard-fought victories, and personal milestones. Our success is built on the energy and commitment shown by coaches, volunteers, players, and parents alike, both on and off the pitch. Looking ahead, 2026 promises even more opportunities for growth, teamwork, and sporting excellence.

We remain dedicated to nurturing talent in every age group – from our youngest stars just starting out in the U7s, right through to our U18s as they prepare for senior football. The progress and development within each team is a testament to the tireless efforts of our coaching staff and the vibrant community spirit that defines Durham United.

Year Highlights
• Men’s First Team lifted both the Wearside League title and the Cup after a thrilling finish.
• U18 Girls were crowned League champions and reached the League Cup Final.
• U16 Wolves clinched their League title with a memorable victory in March.
• Celebrating notable successes across U8 Leopards, U9 Tigers, U11 Sunday, and U15 Sunday teams; apology for missing any team success.
• The Durham Football School for Girls launched at Durham High School under FA Coach Billy Horn, creating new opportunities and teams for girls’ football.
• Secured a £4.5m state-of-the-art 4G pitch at New College Durham as our training base and matchday venue.
• Former Durham United player Jenson Jones made his debut for Sunderland in August – a proud moment for his parents, and our club.
• New AVEC match kit arrived and our training kit had a refresh!
• Welcomed new players, further strengthening our inclusive and supportive club environment.

Durham United Youth Football Club is committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for players of all abilities to learn, develop, and enjoy football as a community sport. Our guiding principles are simple: Football for All, Durham as One, and Football with a Smile. We play with RESPECT – for our players, coaches, volunteers, opposition, and especially the referees.

Thank you for your ongoing support, passion, and enthusiasm. Let’s make 2026 a year to remember, filled with friendship, progress, and unforgettable football moments. Wishing everyone a healthy, successful and enjoyable year ahead!
Up the Claret & Amber!
